This page describes how Stock Day Media selects, researches, produces, and verifies the content that appears on this site.

1. Universe of Coverage

Stock Day Media covers public companies trading on the U.S. OTC markets (OTCQB, OTCQX, Pink), the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE), and similar smaller-issuer markets. Our typical coverage targets have market capitalizations between roughly $1 million and $500 million. Larger issuers are covered when the story is relevant to our small-cap audience.

2. Sectors

Our primary sector focus areas are:

  • Biotechnology and life sciences
  • Mining and natural resources
  • Cannabis and cannabis-adjacent
  • Technology and software
  • Clean and emerging energy
  • Consumer and lifestyle

3. How We Choose Stories

Stories enter our editorial pipeline through three channels: (1) editorial origination based on filing review, market screens, and sector-watch routines, (2) reader and industry pitches submitted through our Contact page, and (3) paid promotional arrangements with covered companies (clearly disclosed). All three channels are subject to the same quality screens described below.

4. Quality Screen

Before a company is covered, we review:

  • Public-filing status (current with OTC Markets / SEC reporting)
  • Recent material disclosures and any active enforcement actions
  • Existence of a real operating business with audited or disclosed financials
  • Management background to the extent publicly available
  • Trading-history red flags (unusual promotional patterns, prior SEC suspensions, etc.)

We decline coverage of issuers we believe pose elevated risk of misrepresenting material facts to investors.

5. Reporting Process

For each article, our process is:

  1. Review the most recent SEC filings or OTC disclosures (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, financials)
  2. Review the most recent issuer press releases and material announcements
  3. For interviews, conduct the interview directly with management and record where applicable
  4. Cross-reference numerical claims against the filings
  5. Identify and document the principal risks
  6. Editorial review by a second team member
  7. Verification quote-check with the issuer where feasible
  8. Publication with appropriate disclosure

6. Podcast Methodology

The Stock Day Podcast is recorded as a live conversation with management. Episodes are lightly edited for clarity and timing. We do not script answers in advance, though topic areas are agreed before recording. Where management makes a verifiable factual claim during an episode, that claim is checked against filings before publication; significant discrepancies trigger an editor’s note.

7. Verification of Numerical Claims

All revenue, share-count, market-capitalization, cash, and debt figures are verified against the most recent public filing of record before publication. Where a claim is based on a more recent unaudited disclosure (e.g., a press release issued between quarterly filings), the source is named in-text.

8. Conflicts and Holdings

Writers disclose personal holdings in any security they cover. Compensation arrangements at the publication level are disclosed per article and on our Disclosure page.

9. What We Don’t Do

  • We do not issue buy / sell / hold ratings
  • We do not set price targets
  • We do not provide individualized investment advice
  • We do not cover companies under active SEC trading suspension
  • We do not republish third-party press releases without editorial value-add

10. Updates to This Methodology

This Methodology is reviewed annually and updated as our practices evolve. The current version and last-revision date are maintained on this page.
